Balochistan Glass Limited (BGL), commenced operations in May 1983 as a public limited company. BGL is a listed company with all three stock exchanges in the country. The Paid-Up Capital of the company is Rs. 330 millions divided into 66 millions ordinary shares of Rs. 5.00 each.

BGL Unit I manufacturing facility is located at Hub in Balochistan about 35 kms from Karachi. BGL Unit II manufacturing facility is located at 29 kms from sheikhupura & BGL UNIT III manufacturing facility is located at 12 Kms from sheikhupura. The total capacitities of these Unit are 36,000 tons, 50,000 tons, 22000 tons Per annum respectively and are producing various types of narrow and wide neck glass containers for Beverages , Juices, Food, Pharmaceuticals and Breweries in Flint, Green & Amber colors.

Orion Group, which came into existence in 1986, manages BGL. Principal office of the Group is located in London – UK, with sub offices in Pakistan, Nigeria and Tanzania. All financial, Maritime and Machinery Insurance and property business matters are handled from the London office. The Group has diversified into various businesses; some of which are hereunder:

1. UNITED KINGDOM
Orion Shipping & Trading Company (Pvt) Ltd., is involved in ship bunkering, chartering, real estates and trading business.

2. NIGERIA
Ship & Shore Services Ltd – is involved in the business of Ship Chartering, Bunkering, handling and ship owning in Nigeria.

3. TANZANIA
Britanic Petroleum Ltd This office is looking after the bunkering business in the country.

4. PAKISTAN.
Gharibwal Cement Ltd., a public limited company was taken over by group in 1991 from Privatization commission of Pakistan. The professional Competence can be judged by the fact that the GCL was awarded "25 Top Companies Award" for three consecutive years i.e. from 1992 to 1994 from all Stock Exchanges of Pakistan.

Dandot Cement Co. Ltd., A public limited Company acquired recently by the Group in order to expand in the Cement Business of the country.

Pak Hy-Oils Ltd., This company was taken over by the group from privatization commission of Pakistan, a leading producer of specialty Asphalts comprising of Industrial grades, Automotive Lubricants, Industrial Lubricating oils and pioneer in manufacturing of new virgin Transformer oils and Hygrip modified bituminous Membrane in Pakistan.

Mountfield Trading (Pvt) Ltd., Group is also doing the trading business in Molasses, Rice and Cotton
